Annotation: The article proposes a model for converting the carding fleece-batt mass density from the carding machine doffer into the linear density of the carding sliver, taking into account random and periodic components of unevenness. Using the method of statistical modelling, the influence of the scatter of the random component in the unevenness of the fleece-batt and in the speed of its transportation to the funnel on the unevenness of the carding sliver, the frequency of the periodic component on the structure of the sliver irregularity was studied. A high degree of alignment of the linear density is set as a result of the summation of the fibrous material flows from the doffer into the sliver and the different influence of the unevenness of the fleece-batt and variations of its removal rate on the periodic component of the carding sliver irregularity.
