Annotation: An attempt is made to determine the mechanical properties of a static contact by studying it dynamically by means of tangential stresses and strains, which is, according to the authors, the most appropriate, since tangential stresses and strains are the result of a complex of processes occurring on the contact and they depend on the load, contact temperature , the actual contact area, as well as the mechanical properties of the surface layers of the friction pair, etc. Taking into account the viscoelastic properties of the contact allows one to increase the accuracy of modelling the processes of energy loss in the contact of textile materials and inside textile structures, such as wound body tissues, etc. The proposed approach will be of interest to specialists in the field of mechanical engineering, as well as specialists in the field of textile technologies.
